Fold out ramp hitting another car

I picked the van up Monday, clean, waxed and a tankful of gas. Big difference between a 13" and 10". We drove home in a loaner Dodge with 13 and definitely one wasn't for me. I got the 2019 Touring P with custom leather.https://www.absolutemobilitycenter.c...e-wa/35135913/ . It was the only 10" he had in stock. It had the same S package the previous one was but with cloth. I went with the Touring L because I wanted leather and it was a good deal. The one I got is like i would've ordered if had leather. So best of both worlds. He had 50 13" drops and one 10". Someone may have screwed up and ordered a 10" drop when they wanted a 13. Or just out of them.

The fold out is extremely quiet. It's almost surreal going over my bumpy country road. So far no challenges with the ramp space. It has a smaller steering wheel than my 2000 with the steering being very positive. There is much more room in the back than others checked out. I'm liking it more and more. There's plenty of room behind the rear seat for storage. I don't like not having a spare. There is an option for one.
Something that's going to take getting used to are the extra steps needed to transfer to the seat. It's just getting used to a new transfer. If anything, getting the high quality leather he had done, it was worth it. I understand the old one may already be sold. It was a loaded one for sure. I like the Pacifica, Braun did a clean job on the interior and mechanics. There is more room in the back. I'll miss the simplicity of the 2000 but won't for long.

Conversing with rep who brokered the deal, the 10" is available in foldout version only... for now. It seems the conversion dealers are pushing the 12-14" drops.

Looks nice. I am jealous of the mileage. I'm getting 12 MPG. Enjoy.

By the way, what do you do if you get a flat? Will AAA bring you a wheel? Or do you have to get it towed?

Thanks Guys. I'm liking it more and more. Sounds typical of Absolute to do that SR. I dislike a person has to go to the dealer in their area cause you're stuck with them rather than someone you trust.

Yep, 22.5mph so far August. There's a flat and air cannistor that comes with it as well as an air compressor. I think the tire alarm must go off when a tire is going flat. If it needs to be towed, it has to go on a flatbed. I don't like not having a spare myself. I may have the option installed at a later date. It would mean they would have to tear out the vacuum and install there. Who needs a vacuum in. their van?

THe leather is very luxurious and thick. Feels like a lounge chair sitting in it.

Congratulations Patrick,

I've had my unmodified Pacifica since February and couldn't be more pleased. The only usability issues I've had are with the turn signals and design of the outside mirrors. The design of the latter makes it difficult to add supplemental mirrors to effectively monitor the Pacifica's considerable blind spots.

For the driver's side, I would highly recommend the Herbert Richter Interior Blind-Spot Mirror (Model 10410401). The only place I've seen it is on Amazon, and it costs ~$15.

Thanks OTR, I agree the turn signals and mirror are awkward. Especially trying to position the seat, after transferring, to the same mirror position. So far, I've just adjusted the mirror. I'm sure that will improve with practice also. I usually just buy a convex mirror and stick on the lower left side of the mirror but will wait now. The mirror looks interesting and looking forward to your thread.

The Pacifica has really shown to be above my expectations. It drives really nice, even in a crosswind on the freeway. I normally put a steering knob on the wheel at 2 O'clock. Due to the bulge built into the wheel, it doesn't fit so have it a 5 O'clock now. It may just need longer bolts or a different clasp.

This minor annoyance is aggravated by the location of the indicators halfway up the instrument panel next to the physical speedometer and tach dials. They do little to draw your attention that they are still on.

I went threw several convex mirrors on the passenger side before I found one that worked.

I loved the camera that the Odessey uses, but I understand that Honda is phasing it out in favor of a warning light on the exterior mirror.

Perhaps a simple piezzo alarm fitted inline would negate that design flaw?
Some years back I fitted one to my sons MK2 Ford Escort. Long since gone.
It did away with the concern of overlooking the oil pressure idiot light if it came on. It was a minor nuisance on start up but at least he was aware when the oil pressure was there.
One less thing to 'watch' for. More attention can be focused on driving.

Well a warning light came on today about the system in the van. 752miles on it. Had the same thing go on the previous 2018Pacifica. Wonder if it's a problem. So will have to call the dealership for an appointment. Took two trips due to their needing to order the wiring harness or something last time. Other than that, so far so good. Lots of redundant extras I'll never use.

Let me guess; Airbag warning light?

If you reach down and wriggle the seat connector in the wall, before you start the van, it will sometimes go away, but it will get worse over time. Braun still hasn't worked out a good connector for use with a 6way seat.

At least they get logged in the system, so the ODB reader will verify your problem.

3/4circle with A in middle and ! on the side. Owners manual stated it was the Start/Stop system warning light and contact dealership. I think there is a recall on them or something. Strange it has happened to both vans. Dealer last time said, Braun takes out the 6th antenna located in the console that was between the front seats and may have something to do with it. Whatever it was, they had to replace the wiring harness. We'll see when I take it down. Will wriggle the seat connector and see if theat makes a difference. Thanks McDuff.

I loved the simpicity compared to the new one. If it was a bit higher I wouldn't have bought a new on.

Boy this has not been my week. First the fairly new ZX1 actuator stopped working. It's covered undr warranty but still... Now this popping up. Well if that's the worst thing to happen, I'm doing okay.

On a somehow related subject: ditched the R350 diesel MB which I made a lift for my ZX1 in.
Got a 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country which doesn't favor a lift, so I ordered a $200 6' 33lb folding ramp (discountramps.com) which I'm happy to report, does the trick.
We can even load it with the chair attached-cool!

I'm in process, making electronic throttle hand controls. I got a pedal position sensor/sender, but incredibly, Volvo is unable to apply the electrical plug &/or harness! Not available yet but they've used this plug since 2016 on all 2L fours! And, apparently, these cars don't make it into junkyards yet.
