  • Hand control issues

My peripheral neuropathy dictates that I use a hand control. Unable to feel pressure on the gas or brake pedal. Used a Monarch 1A some 20 years ago, fatigue. Simple then, complex and expensive now. Going to a dealer will set me back $3K. I want to pick up a used one, ($350.00 ?) and install it myself. Looking for past experience, source for parts and any pitfalls.

Ebay for a set of controls. I prefer MPD right angle As far as installation it'll probably require some custom mounting hardware, depending on the vehicle. What kind of vehicle are you putting them in?

The Monarch, and similar others, is still around. The basic controls are the same, but there are different mounting brackets depending on the vehicle. You will NOT be able to buy the mounting bracket, or other parts, from dealers or the manufacturer, so make sure whatever you buy includes everything needed.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

        Rusty,
The MPD 3800 PP seems to be a lot like the Monarch that I have used but the bracket on the one I found on Ebay could be a challenge. This will be going on 2016 Mazda CX5

          Joe,
Thanks for the warning. It seems that the hassle with qualifying and training cost is not limited to California. Fortunately, I know a Metal Fabricator and a Machinist here in Chico.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought one listed on Ebay, $328.00.
            Thanks all for your input.
