I don't normally wear anything on my hands when outside in the winter, but probably should, except I have trouble finding mittens for my quad hands that allows me to operate my goalpost-style joystick. Any recs?

Could you use a convertible mitten/glove like these?

This is similar to what my daughter uses. One hole for thumb and then an open space for the rest of the fingers. Once a task is done, you can move the cover over all the fingers.

This most likely is useless but if you have help you might look for glove liners(silk or man made material cloves to fit under either mittens or gloves). My poor circulation and sensation problems I found these under whichever glove or mittens wear to help with keeping fingers warmer with better circulation(Fingers not pale).
Some had mentioned to me to use glove chemcial warmer packs or battery powered gloves but doctor recommended to not do these due to lost of sensation that might burn skin with realizing it!
Good Luck!

There is a company called adaptations by Adrian (link below) that has nice fleece mittens. It comes with a full length zipper is that on the side that allows you to get in and out of it easily. The only problem is that it doesn't have a thumb. So what I did is take it to a local tailor who pinched off a section for the thumb and stitched it up permanently. Works good. For the life of me I don't know why their mittens don't have thumbs. Once you are in it you can't do much other than drive a power chair, as the fleece is slippery.

I have an ancient pair of Columbia mittens that my hands slide into even when my fingers are curled up and being mittens no finger holes to worry about. I have a Bodypoint 4" joystick and have no problems driving my chair with my mittens on. I do have to watch what I am doing during transport when I place my mitt back into the joystick or I can swat it into unintended motion. I have found it works better to adjust my speed settings with the other hand mitten-less, held in my mouth than fumble with a mittened finger or thumb.
