I've had the fortune of traveling to many great places, with activity after activity planned, only to have my plans ruined by a sudden drop in my chair's battery level. My chair charger is a bit bulky to be lugging around, and so I wondered if there was any smaller options available?

We had one for my mother's Permobil, but it was a long time ago (2007). I think it was this one though:

Only downside of this one was that it took a lot longer to charge the battery than the standard charger we used at home, but it worked for daily charging during the night just fine.

Those are GREAT! My wife's chair had bad charger come with it new and DME just swapped it for Soneil with fan, guess it's a SuperCharger not sure. That puppy charges fast!!!! We have a converter in van and plug Soneil into it to charge while traveling. Remember even in Las Vegas that both our chair's batteries were on way out, been putting off getting replaced and we'd plug up in casinos or shopping galleries. Didn't take long to recharge both chairs with 1 charger.Comment

Big/bulky chargers common with many chairs typically have the advantage of being pretty robust (ventilated actively or passively to help keep component life high). But, you can trade size and ampacity (and dollars) in lots of different ways. I just built a charger for a colleague that ran off a "power socket" (I guess they no longer call them "lighter sockets"!) so he could rely on his vehicle as the "charging station" (I wired an additional socket in the vehicle for convenience of access). I imagine you can buy similar OTC.Comment

You are running 24 batteries in your F3 correct? Before you go out for the day are you resetting your trip odometer? When you say running out how many miles are you getting?
Remember to stay out of red it damages the batteries.
We took Tonnys advice and when we are traveling and going to have a long day of running we will take the portable and when we stop to eat lunch or dinner we can charge for an hour and really helps!
Charger fits in backpack.
Dont really have issues at restaurants and bars to charge up.Comment

Keep in mind our Soneil is from 90's, it has fan but not sure if SuperCharger or not. On chair just trip doc or Walmart or grocery store less than 10min on U1 and not much more on any on 22NF or 24's.Originally posted by landrover View Post

With good batteries and run down into red: Set of U1 to full charge 20min
Group 22NF's & 24's down into red about 30min
Number might not be excact cause in van never let get down deep discharge and most all our use in in home and just out when have to, these days.Comment
