        The one you link to is a 16 amp equivalent. The 2412 is on this link https://electricscooterparts.com/soneilchargers.html. Soneil chargers are constant current as opposed to linear current. The 2412 denotes 24 volts with 12 amp equivalence. You can read about the tech on the soneil site. And it is fast as compared to the old type chargers.

            One you first posted about that missing XLR Plug so you would have strip cord from charger and wire it to a XLR Plug, so be able to use it on your chair.

            XLR is the metal round end plug on Charger that plugs into your chair's charging port.

            Not hard to do if able use your fingers or get someone to hook wires to it for you. Think it was a PaceSaver we had years ago that charge went bad. The PaceSaver had smaller diameter XLR Plug, all plastic. DME just cut plug off bad charger and put on new charger after cutting it's bigger XLR Plug off.

              So will the 2412 charge faster then my standard Permobil charger?

                34's?? You know that chair will support 24's! If you can upgrade do...34s got me 10 miles tops 24s I have done 17 miles and still have charge!

                It wont charge it faster as on the road your just topping off.

                But a hour of charge will equal a more running time while your out.

                How long have you had that chair?

                    Yes. The Permobil charger is an 8A unit; the 2412 will deliver 12 -- 50 % more ampacity.

                    Think of a battery as a jar that is full of "electricity" (stored charge). The larger the jar, the more "electricity" is available for use. (You can see this directly reflected in the capacities of different battery case sizes.)

                    The rate of flow of charge is expressed as amps (regardless of whether it is flowing INTO the battery -- during charging -- or OUT of the battery -- during use).

                    Electricity flows into the battery from the 12A charger faster than the 8A charger. So, in theory, "fills" the battery quicker.

                    If you draw a steady 20A from the battery for an hour, you've removed 20A-Hrs (ampere hours) of charge from the battery. Likewise, if you've been pulling 10A for 2 hours or 5A for 4 hours...

                    With an 8A charger, after one hour, you've pushed 8A-Hrs (1Hr * 8A = 8A-Hrs) back into the battery. After 2 hours, you've restored 16A-Hrs (2*8). So, in ~2.5 Hrs you've replenished the charge you drained, previously (2.5Hr * 8A = 20A-Hr).

                    With a 12A charger, this would take you ~1.7 Hrs (20A-Hr / 12A).

                    With a 4A charger, closer to 5 hours!

                    In reality, things aren't quite that simple. There are losses involved and limits to what the battery will safely tolerate (heat is generated while charging and hydrogen gas released; charge too fast and you risk "cooking" the battery). E.g., a battery may not like charging currents exceeding ~20A so a 40A charger can actually be harmful to the battery, even if it seems like it would greatly accelerate recharging times!

                    The same is true of pulling charge out of the battery; you might be able to draw 10A for 8 hours (10A * 8Hr = 80A-Hr) but 20A for only 3.5 (20 A * 3.5Hr = 70 A-Hr).

                    Different battery chemistries and technologies have different characteristics and can be optimized for different usage patterns. E.g., the batteries used in emergency lighting systems are designed to "last a long time" while NOT in use. A starting battery is designed to give a short, high current surge. Deep cycle batteries are designed to be discharged until they are REALLY well depleted (which could be fatal for other batteries).
