    Wheelchair safety LED lights

Anyone have a wheelchair LED safety light attached to their wheelchair? I am just looking around for something small and discreet to turn on if I am in a darkened area to light up the pavement and be seen by vehicles. I found this one that looks pretty cool but I'd like to know if anybody here has something better. Thank you.

I would just go to your local Walmart, Target, or big box store and get an auto interior LED that plugs into a cigarette lighter. There are all sorts of strips and other light styles available. Can wire directly to one of the batteries with a switch, or add your own cigarette lighter plug to connect into.

Plenty of battery powered clip-on and clamp-on types that are available for bicycles too.

Smoky, your YouTube link above leads to a dead end. I don't think that company exists any more (the video was from 2009).

Here is a motorcycle lighting system someone added to a power wheelchair:

Here is a power chair outfitted with a custom system:

For manual wheelchairs, these may be an option:

This bike product can be used on a manual wheelchair too (on the frame or wheels):

If you have wire spoked wheels on your manual chair, something like these might work:

This type mounts on the valve cap:

Why go with sissy bicycle lighting...go vehicle lighting! Small and definitely noticeable. What these are is listed in the video notes on youtube...

            What about this one? http://rehadesign.com/products/wheelchair-lights

Don't really want lights on my wheels or spokes like a little circus ride. I just don't want a car hit me when I am in a parking lot or crossing the street when it's dark.

I installed the Cateye Auto Reflex on my rigid back; love it; I wear a helmet mounted white light for a headlight; and have reflective tape on my spoke guards.

Note that this vendor is a European company. The YouTube video they reference has a link to a non-existent USA company (the manufacturer, I assume). I would strongly recommend communicating with the European vendor to be sure that this product actually still is available/being made, and that they will ship to the USA before putting PayPal money out to buy them.
