anyone use a Vicair Vector O2?

Has anyone used the newest Vicair Vector O2? (I'm familiar with their other cushions)

We have some budget that we need to use quick or we loose it. What we like is that you can add/remove cells to change the seat height for toddling (propelling by foot) and seating adjustment and you can wash the whole cushion.

My husband currently uses a Varilite Evolution PSV that he has been happy with because he can add/remove air to change the seat height for toddling. The other option is a Supracor Stimulite XS, but he will loose the ability to change the seat height for toddling.

I use the VectorX. While you can add/remove cells, it is meant to be a long term adjustment. I'm not sure how he intends to use it, but, it really isn't something you want to do on a daily (or less) basis. But, if you are talking about being able to fine tune the heights in various sections of the cushion, then yes, it would work. But, it sounds like you want to keep varying your seat height (otherwise, the better change would be to the seat height of the chair) back and forth. If that is the case, I really would recommend that you have two cushions, one for a normal height and one for toddling. It sounds like you already have one, and can buy the Vector as a second. Also, you might contact them about a custom cushion designed for a lower profile. If you empty the pockets too much, they become less predictable, as the cells have the ability to move around.

Thanks for your reply Kulea. I think the Vector X is a slightly older model. I don't see the Vector O2 on the US distributor site yet (ComfortCompany). Here is the link on their website: https://vicair.com/vector-o2

This one has a very accessible zipper around most of it. I don't think we will adjust it daily, but I would like to be able to adjust by adding cells to it for long bumpy rides when the seat height won't matter as much, e.g., wheelchair taxi, using a ZX-1 power add-on, etc.

Indeed, we will also have the Varilite Evolution which is still in pretty good shape and have yet another older roho type also.

I think we are getting lucky on this one. Vicair is 45 minutes away from us here in the Netherlands. I've just ordered a trial cushion free for there weeks that is suppose to arrive early next week, which should meet our deadline if we decide quick.

I also have used a vector X (not sure how different the O2 is sorry). The adjustability is nice but I agree with Kulea that it isn't something you want to do very often. It is definitely the lightest cushion I've had. I was pressure mapped with it and never had any problems.

There are no plans to offer the O2 in the USA.
It is; however, very similar to the Vicair X-series cushions in the USA.

Would it be easier and quicker to add/remove something (e.g., a folded towel, a Supraseat, etc.) underneath the referenced Stimulite in such cases?
The minimum height needed would; of course, determine whether or not any/which of the Stimulites would be suitable for this purpose.

Thank you for the great suggestion WC_Sage. We have a Supracor Stimulite Silver Cushion that has a height of 1.5" that might be perfect for putting under the Vector O2 with a height 2.36” (6 cm), rather than getting the 3.93” (10cm) version that is closer to the current Varilite Evolution PSV that he uses at a height of about 2.5" for toddling (propelling by foot) without much air and 3.8” with full air on long bumpy rides when not toddling.

I wonder why it is not being offered in the US. It looks to be a nice cushion to me, and I like that the whole things is washable and very breathable.

My husband has been doing a trial of the Vicair 02 for about 10 days now. We ordered the 2.36” (6 cm) version. So far, we are very pleased with it. We think he might need a few more air cells to add to the center back part because he uses a CF seat pan and it feels a bit thin. They said that it was no problem to get extra air cells at no charge. We really like that the whole cushion is breathable and washable, but have not tried to wash it yet. The flip side is that the bottom netting is quite slippery and we needed to use the velcro to fasten it to the CF seat pan. That has never been needed with his Varilite, Supracor Stimulite or Synergy Spectrum, but that is not really a big deal. I'll try to give an update a bit later also, because we have also not tried to shift air cells around yet. They are setting up a phone call with me with their seating specialist to do that, which is very nice. The MSRP is about €600 (US$675) -- not a cheap cushion, but so far I am impressed with it.

As a note to WC_Sage, the person I spoke with at their headquarters in the Netherlands, Frederike van Dijk, said that they do indeed sell the Vicair 02 through their US distributor (ComfortCompany). Probably they just don't list it on their website yet.

Another update. We washed the cushion the other night. It did really well in the washing machine on 60 deg. C, and a bag was not needed. It dried pretty quickly too in about 6 hours. Another thing I like is how easy it is to put the cover on. It only takes a few seconds. I've also found that if I shake up the cushion every day it seems to help so that the center part has enough cushion in it. Still, I'll probably get some extra air cells just to experiment with. So overall, both my husband and I are very happy with the cushion.

The statement was likely a reference to the 02-similar Vicair X-series cushions.

I use a varilite zoid and stimulite xs depending on my needs. i would say that 90% of my time is spent on my zoid and i love it. as i can adjust the air in it. i use the the stimulite when I am in wet applications such as when i play with the kids at the water park. my wife uses one of my old stimulites for her job to sit on. I tried the vicair it just didnt fit my need the air cells moved to easy on me. i don't know if i am any help.

I can imagine that the air cells moving might be a problem for some people with the Vicair cushions.

Although them moving a little is not a problem for my husband, we did have a problem yesterday. We ordered a 6cm x 40cm x 45cm (2.36" x 15.74" x 17.71") cushion for his 16" x 18" ADI seat base that we have fold-down carbon fiber sideguards on. When he transferred into his chair from the car the sideguard got caught under his hip and because the cushion is lower, squishier and a bit smaller than his other was he was partially sitting on it. Neither of us realized it because he does not have sensation on that side, but luckily he seems okay. Possibly I should have gone up a size on the width to 43cm (16.92"), which we will think about before the trial period is up in about another week.

I tried the vicair it just didnt fit my need the air cells moved to easy on me. i don't know if i am any help.
