I took my ghetto/winter beater to work tonight, and shot a few pics of how it sorta should be:

(the board is strange on this browser, automatically opening all attachments I'm trying to post in the box below...so I'll just do a number and description here)

Pic 1-Gas at idle. Notice the gas arm on the controls a little behind 90 degrees to the control body. A little further would be perfect, but the idea here is the gas arm swings though 90 degrees to the control body at 1/2 throttle.

Pic 2-Gas at full throttle. Gas arm swung forward past 90 degrees. While things will still work installing the controls without keeping 90 degrees on the gas lever at 1/2 throttle as a reference...in the control mechanism itself you will run into binding and excess effort to operate the gas, due to improper angularity within the controls themselves.

Pic 3-Levers and rods are mostly at right angles to each other and pivot points such as the gas pedal.

Pic 4-Not too hard to keep things tucked in with a little effort. This was installed by a guy in a wheelchair, in the dead of winter, in an unheated garage. So you know not a lot of time was spent on this, lol. A professional should be able to do similar I'd think
