Does anyone have any recommendations on wheelchair providers in the bay area? I have heard good things about Wheelchairs of San Mateo but they are not one of the "preferred providers" in my insurance network (BlueCross/BlueShield). Wheelchairs of Berkeley is in my network but I have found them to be pretty incompetent. Any other recommendations or good experiences with providers in the bay area? Thanks in advance.

We're in the Bay Area and have not been very happy with National Seating and Mobility: super expensive, even with insurance, very slow to get things done, and not incredibly responsive. That being said,we've not had much luck with finding another DME that we like. Going to try ATG Rehab in the next few weeks--trying to get a standing frame.

For what it's worth I have heard good things about Wheelchairs of San Mateo. They're based in San Mateo but will also do fittings and appointments in Berkeley. I would go to them but they are not one of the "preferred providers" under my insurance policy.
