Ti won't put an ergonomic seat on the ZRA because it is adjustable and the ergonomics change when adjusted differently.

It sounds like they havent' found a solution to the carbon fibre camber tube problem Jo. I have the Tr with the titanium c tube and like it a lot.

You really can't go wrong with either Top End or Tilite. For myself, I would be leary still of ordering the ZR or ZRA Series2; but that's just my opinion.I'm riding a Ti Tr at the moment after years and years of using a top End. Not too much difference.

I like the box frames over the open type frames in that the tubing has a smaller diameter and is usually a little lighter. The box f also has less flex.

Before you order, you may want to post it here and get some feed back. A good fitting chair makes all the difference.

Thanks so much for the good info. Wasn't really considering Top End (read more positive things about TiLite here) but am looking at the Crossfire now knowing TE is comparable to Ti. Doing more research and reading more posts here (esp. about fit and getting measurements as accurate as possible). Will post details with my ideas and measurements before I order to get some feedback before I plop down the dough (this chair's an out of my pocket expense so need it to last and want it to look good). Thanks good people!

it's easy to make an ergonomic seat by using a wedge of foam under your cushion.

If I want an 8" long ergonomic seat, I just measure out 8" then use a level and measure from the level to the seat pan or sling. The distance between will be how thick the wedge should be in the back. Put in your cushion or under and viola, you have an ergonomic seat.

Thanks chasmengr and Patrick. Won't spend the $$ on an ergonomic seat (can deveote that savings to cushion/backrest needs). I like the idea of making an ergo seat and glad you supplied the "how to" Patrick - another really good example of how helpful everyone is here with sharing their know-how. Please know how much I really appreciate it!

Gotta say that so far my CF camber tube has held up, it's just been the back rest, solid seat pan and flexrims that I've had the issues with...

because I'd just been traveling and airline baggage handlers and French taxi drivers don't love my new shiny tattooed titanium chair the way I do! I'm sure you can associate with that.

if i had the choice again i'd order the new ZR instead of the ZRA2; the ZR has a better design allround especially the 2 main moving parts 1) backrest hinge, and 2) the front caster housing system.

If he doesn't, go somewhere where they will ICE. Most DME's want us to go with a Quickie cause they get a bigger cut for themselves. They don't care what's best for us they just want to line their pockets. TO them a chair is a chair; we won't know the difference.

For myself, I will never go back to a Quickie except perhaps their Allcourt. Even then, I think I'd go with the Paul Schulte Top End instead.

Don't let him tell you that your insurance or whatever you are using won't buy a Ti. If he does, the I'd look elsewhere as fast as you can. And, let him know exactually why you won't be dealing with him.

Don't be so quick to pin it on your DME. I had a hell of a time getting a Ti loaner to demo and then it had to be returned so it could be shared among 5 hospitals.

Never saw the Ti regional rep either but Invacare shows up at EVERY wheelchair seating clinic.
