  • Change of bucket seat to better seat?

Alright gang, this is a doozie, but here goes.

Has anyone ever switched out a bucket seat of a car for a design
that was easier to transfer in/out of?

How was it done and who did you contact?

I'm trying to see if I have any options for my PT Cruiser and if not, I'll make do.

    Thanks.

This was the only thing I could find...http://www.autoadapt.com/produkter/s.../sittkomf.html

Hey, did you use the same car seat and just install a base?

Hey no Decaf, I would check out some auto customizers, they can probably rig up whatever you want for much cheaper than any "handicap fix".

When I used to work for a trucking company, they had me take worn out seats to this guy who just worked on them in the back of his house. He would completely rebuild the seats, the few times I got to see the inside of his workshop, he had various seats pulled completely apart, rebuilding the cusioning over the wire spring frame, and then recovering it.

If you could find somebody to do something like that (craigslist?), I am sure they could build up the seat you have to a shape that would work for you.

OK, I think I got it.

What I really need is an auto upholster who can take out the seats, change the material, make the seat wider, at least at the door side, then reinstall.

              Any ideas on material?

                  nope, totally different seats
pulled the powers from a probe and put them in the mx6
plugged them in and ... nothing
figured out which wire was hot and bodged it
then i was good to go
