How do you Remove Glue and what is the Strongest Glue?

The velcro from my old leg strap is peeling off on one side and I have the velcro piece to replace it but there is still the old glue is still on the downtube. How can I get it off without damaging the plastic coating on the tube?

What is the strongest glue? I have a pair of AFOs and the rubber grip is starting to peel a little bit on the end and I want to prevent the whole thing from coming off. And having a super strong glue around can be very handy.
    Thanks for your help.

The acetone in nail polish remover usually removes glue. The other thing, depending on the type of glue you are trying to remove, is to stick it in the freezer and then pull it off while it is still frozen.

WD-40 is a good and gentle adhesive remover.
