Not new but no depreciation issues either. Reliability with a healthy price difference; it is just comfortable and sensible transport.....
The GH Mazda6 wagon (2008-2012) 2.5 liter 4 cylinder works well for me; smooth riding with good handling and nice wide tall doors (if needs be, they could be made to swing open a bit wider using spacers on the restraint link arms).
The post 2012 have a more fuel efficient motor plus better transmission (not Ford) but too much BS like heavily bolstered seats, dodgy console design, door style intrudes inward too much, traction control, electric handbrake et al for my liking.
When travelling on my own I prefer using my 2GX; if I have a passenger then the TRA (or the 2GX) suit me better as they can stow it in the boot.
I'm not sure if Mazda USA market the wagon (they should). I understand that the sedan and hatch are USA available.
I would prefer a smaller more economical vehicle but they are all problematic in size and access for me and my chair.
The Mazda6 wagon was bought used at 150,000+kms. With regular maintenance it should be good for another 150K
This; same model and colour as mine

Space to maneuver comes down to door size. I don't think you can find a door large enough on a 4 door car. It seems that even the largest 4 door car has a smaller door than a small 2 door car.

Have you looked at the Tesla model X? From videos, it does not look like the front doors open especially wide, but the rear door opens up, which means it could be a lot easier to put a wheelchair in the back seat.Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

I have a small 2014 Chevy. I can get my old chair in it ok, pulling the chair across my lap. My newer chair has 2 additional inches of both height and depth and I cannot get that in at all. I'm not a large person at 5'4" and 100 lbs so I'm clearly near the limit in size for a small chevy 4 door.

My daily driver is a 2010 Nissan Tiida (sold as a Versa in the US) and I have never battled to get a chair over my lap into it. Even used a rigid Panthera for a while and it was still easily manageable. I can load my Quickie Xenon folded up without removing the rear wheels in a pinch.
My wife has a 2019 VW Tiguan which also has relatively big front doors. I manage to load a folded chair with rear wheel removed quite easily into it too.T4 complete since 30 April 2012
