I was disappointed that Dr Michael Rathbone was speaking in Windsor on the same day I would find myself in Toronto for surgery consult with an Orthopaedic Surgeon. He's 'a big researcher' in Ontario at least. I believe he works out of Hamilton.

But I see he's also speaking the next day in London .. yet another 2hr trip .. with two other speakers, one on wounds I'd especially like to hear. I'll bring what info I gather if I make it ... these are put on by the Canadian Paraplegic Association (yay they're changing towards cure related thinking!!!) Hope to hear good news.

graduated from Liverpool University Medical School, has a PhD in
Biochemistry from McMaster and trained as a neurologist at UWO. He has
published over 250 papers and abstracts on his scientific work, is actively
involved in clinical work and in undergraduate and postgraduate education in science and medicine.

Dr. Hayes is a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Western Ontario, and is also the Director of Research at Parkwood Hospital in London for Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation.

After a period of perhaps 4 years of clinical trial doldrums, there are finally some clinical trials coming on line, both in the United States and in China. We need many more, however. Not every clinical trial will be successful.

It is not unlike rolling a dice in a casino. The only difference is that if anybody wins, everybody wins.

We keep on talking about stem cells, cord blood, all the money going into private funding, clinical trials going on, lots of things happening. When are we going to hear the magic words that they can repair sci??? And getting to be too much like work to stay in shape & expensive. Well any positive thoughts would be appreciated.

Be brave! Hope dies with us!..Just don't spent much time dwelling on it, like I did in first couple years!...Take everything, even Chairman Young tells you., not as dogma..If you do-you will be waisting valuable life time....Many quads before me (I'm 13 years post), will agree......Was on numerous forums, before Wise got secure funding for this one...Yup.....Its hard to adjust...But as my late Dad always said-Take it easy-but Take it!

Don't tell me 2012 is the end of the world, that's when my drivers license expires, almost 12 years without a ticket, still looking for an endorsement for wheelchairs. There will be a repair for our injuries sci... but my magic 8 ball said to ask again later. Hell I was euro sepsis and affected my heart March 31 replaced aortic heart valve, and I feel like the day before my accident, with the C3 injury they were afraid I would not come off vent, I prove them wrong again. Would love to prove them wrong again by standing.
So what is somebody's newest prediction on how much longer?

It's interesting to debate this issue. I could be mistaken; but I believe the ending of the Mayan calendar coincides with a phenomena that occurs very rarely,"more then 100,000 years". It is a period of time "Time being relevant" when there is a particular alignment of our Sun, the planets and the center of our galaxies. At this time no one knows what, if anything at all will occur. It's possible the Mayan's who were a very advanced civilization have simply ended their calendar due to the relevance of a new period of time beginning with this phenomena. I believe the date is 12-21-2012. Any way if we are still around lets send an email the next day and have a laugh about it.

Christopher got me involved this summer into Rick Hansen foundation fund raising event...I've met a bunch of nice people & became a member of para sailing club here in Montreal..

I do peek sometime in forums, but until cure will be available, try to live my life to fullest...Hobbies, ebay, coin club, dating etc....Find something interesting and occupying, beyond carecure...

Carecure sometime is like a black hole (no not that in naughty sense lol ) or Bermuda triangle sucking time and energy

I am going to do what I can, as I may be one in need more-so than I am today. I am grateful to have found this site...I am for real and mentally intact...and am not a devo whom I think have far greater problems mentally than any of us...physically is another issue with me as with you all. In fact I can't believe devos exist....(someone clued me in) Just so ya know.

Stemcell { Pipe Dream }

All this Techno Talk Stem cell therapy is something I can not afford
Prices like $7,000 per treatment in other countries to china for example etc... not including the money needed for the plane flight and expenditures

I'd do anything to give it a try

I live on a very low fixed income because of my situation and I remember one lady from some Stem cell place called me up saying Judy you only neeed to make some technical way of wording Fund raising thats it ! I remembered the term lol
