    was just about to post this, its been making a lot of noise in the media, even here in the philippines. so whats it looking like? breakthrough or more broken promises?

                That's an impressive approach to implementing the treadmill training into the regiment. Here's hoping this surgery/therapy gets funded and implemented into other trials. I could see this tech working well aside other tech like stem cells and such.

                  Will they get all the funding needed, thats a different story. Afaik they don't have all the money they need yet.

                        I have a similar device implanted as part of the E-stand clinical trial https://www.estand.org/. The device I have implanted was intended for pain management but has been programmed for the stimulation purpose the exact model is St.Jude Proclaim. My injury level is T8 the device was implanted with the stimulation paddle at T-12. I am ASIA-A complete motor and sensation injured in 2001, at 18 years out I am the furthest from injury to have this device implanted. It has been three months since I have started the study and we are still adjusting settings I have regained some voluntary foot and leg movement, something I thought would never happen. I can now move my legs on command and left foot flexion although my legs are fairly atrophied after 18 years I can already see them getting stronger. Even though it may not be a cure, I feel these devices could play a crucial role in rehab as it only took 3 hours of surgery to implant and I was back home a few hours later. If I could have had this done 18 years ago it would have made a significant difference in my life.
                        Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.

                            Not to sound lazy?. but do you think just sitting in your Chair trying to move your legs also helps? Do you have voluntary movement when the stimulator is turned off?

                                I just got back from a monthly clinic visit with the trial today each visit I get a new set of settings to see how they change my movements,comfort/bowl bladder etc. I do my therapy on my own mostly laying in bed and working on leg movements or sitting on the edge and doing extensions. I spend the most of my time trying to learn movements like how to do flexion of the ankles or extension of the leg these all have to be relearned since I have no sensation below injury it is hard to turn thoughts into movements.

                                Although the trial puts no limits on therapy, I haven't had access to professional therapy for at least 15 years, regardless of that I am seeing improvements in strength and can control a few movements fairly well I have had some movement with the device off and was recorded during the trial tests, it happens for about 30 minutes after the device has been turned off. They are unsure why this happens but think it may be stored energy in overactive neurons as it diminishes in strength with my movements.
