    I'm aware that stem cells do not dissolve the astroglial scar and as such will have limited capability to get functional gains. The stem cell technology needs to be combined with chABC to do that (or something else) as found during rat testing in these 2017 published results:

    Our department work closely with CT room, and by using advanced 64 rank CT and double source CT, we performed more than 800 CT-guided intraspinal stem cell injections for patients with sequela of spinal cord injury. This is a new transplantation method invented by our department, which has many advantages such as minimally invasive, short time of surgery (only about half an hour), precise localization, little pain, no need of general anesthesia, fast recovery time (only need to stay in bed for 12 hours), and obviously effective. This treatment covers patients with injury of cervical cord, thoracic cord and thoracic lumbar cord.
    I'd like to see other stem cell clinicals adopt this technology to allow more to be done for less money. Even better would be the use of CT-guidances and robotic arm to precisely inject where they want.

As the surgeon inserts the needle, and until it reaches the spinal cord, updated images are created to check the angle of the needle. The spatial relationship between the spinal cord and vertebrae can be identified exactly, ensuring a safe injection. Following the injection, the patient remains in the observation room overnight for monitoring. The CT-guided intraspinal injection is also supplemented by a lumbar puncture and/or IV injection of stem cells.

    Side effects of CT guided intraspinal injection

    Many patients experience post-surgical pain such as radiating pain in the back and extremities, which is expected and natural. This pain is expected to disappear within approximately three days.

    Post Treatment Monitoring

    After procedure patients are observed and put on a monitor which assesses their heart rate, respiration, and other relevant information. A nurse will tend to you, gauge your temperature, and record all data. If you don’t have fever or complications, you will be free to leave the hospital.
