Firstly, thanks to all of you who sent your ideas for questions and/or offered to add your name. In the end we decided just to use our two names to speed the process along.

We have now submitted our questions direct to the producers and presenter and I'll keep you informed of any answer.

You can see the new questions at http://www.stemcellsandatombombs.blo...continues.html

As always - good going Dennis. - I hope the producer(s) can see our point, and decides to make one with a focus we can stand behind. Had I produced the first and an idea like this fell into my lap - I'd be up for the challenge. Maybe I'm a bit biased, who knows? :-)

          Not bad the letter!

I would expect they will blame Nesta for the content as they presented the Logitude prize Nesta has set up as it is, but that would be a bad excuse, as they can't accept present stupid things to be presented in Horizon.

In any case let's not give up! They didn't know what they were talking about in Horizon and people from Nesta don't know much about paralysis and clearly have strong interest in robots at the same time.

We can win easily if we play our cards well.

They seem to love robots so they want to keep us paralized so they can sell us robots...

I have just seen this on FB:

              From Mark Pollock:https://www.facebook.com/mark.pollock.1447?fref=ts

Hi FBers, this is a quick click and vote request before you leave work today please! We are trying to have a co-ordinated social media blast to help win the Paralysis Challenge in the Longitude Prize. We just need you to go to the following link and agree to share via your FB and Twitter tomorrow at 9am. Go to http://thndr.it/1ssZefH <http://thndr.it/1ssZefH> Thanks Mark!

I think that the idea of a co-ordinated social media blast should be considered for future advocacy actions.

revolutionary Israeli technology that allows individuals with Spinal Cord Injury, such as paraplegia, to stand & walk has received clearance for personal use in the U.S. by the FDA
The "not a cure" argument withstanding (should that be with standing), this is going to be on the market soon. It will then be important to ensure that it is made good use of without impacting on cure research.

Now also the US in support of antibiotic:

Antibiotics R&D to get critical lift by executive order, Obama advisory group

                    ....

President Barack Obama's executive order also included a $20 million prize to drive the development of new diagnostic tests to identify highly resistant bacterial infections.

Can we ask for an executive order for SCI cure?
If SCI orgs would team up a bit more...
