  • Neuralstem Begins Chronic SCI trial in San Diego

Here's a link to the latest announcement from Neuralstem Inc. stem cell trial for chronic SCI.

Trial candidates are from 1 year - 2 year post injury and by invitation only. (At least 1 year but no more than 2 years from time of injury at the time of surgery) This trial, which has received approval by the Institutional Review Board of the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine, will enroll up to eight chronic SCI patients with thoracic spinal cord injuries (T2-T12), who have an American Spinal Injury Association (AIS) grade A level of impairment one-to-two years post-injury. AIS A impairment refers to a patient with no motor or sensory function in the relevant segments at and below the injury, and is considered to be complete paralysis.

Patients wishing to find out about the trial should contact the principal investigator's office: 619-471-0798.

I put a couple recent video's in the blog post if people want to hear Richard Garr's updates.
