One question Dr Young,in your P3 trial,will you consider expend lower injury patients?Such as T11 or even T12. Myself is T11.I notice that before Geron stopped their trial,they did expand to T11.

Although this has not yet been decided, I think that we will probably continue to limit the upcoming phase 3 trial to subjects who have injury levels from C5 to T11 inclusive. The reason is because subjects with T12 or lower neurological levels may have damage to their lumbosacral enlargement and have flaccid paralysis. Such injuries are very different and would require neuronal replacement therapy as well as long tract regenerative therapy, which is what we believe umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells and lithium are. In 2014, we are likely to design clinical trials aimed at lumbosacral injuries, using neural stem cells and cethrin. We are currently discussing the next generation of therapies that we will test in ChinaSCINet.

If you are T10-T11, you should be eligible, if the trial specifies C5 through T11 as the inclusion. Please note that we have not finalized the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the phase 3. Wise.

2014 still two years away Wise but has cethrin been tried on chronic patients specially lower lumbar injury patients? I guess not. How do u think cethrin can work in chronic lumbosacral injury patients?

Why umbilical cells and lithium can not do the same which neural stem cells and cethrin can do for lumbosacral injuries? Why dont u try to include lumbosacral injuries in phase3 trials?

Dr Wise i am taken aback about your unaided walking observation. If i am correct you did not refer to the use of braces too.
am i correct in saying the patients had an Asia A lesion. can you please expand for clearer clarification as to what level of injury were the patients observed prior this event. The gait in the picture looks so normal
In other words could they have done it without cell treatment.
