Portable porn: The next billion-dollar industry?

- The adult-entertainment industry has spotted another potentially lucrative venture: portable pornography.

Tied up in rush-hour traffic? How about downloading a little pornographic bump-and-grind on your camera-enabled cell phone to pass the time. Or perhaps you don't want those $2-an-episode offerings of "Desperate Housewives" for your new Apple video iPod. You could just as easily carry a sexy shortie for private viewing on the commuter train, or during your workplace break.
The prospect of a new revenue stream coming to a small screen very near to you is ringing bells in the adult-entertainment industry, which is convening the first-ever Mobile Adult Content Congress in Miami this week to discuss the pitfalls and potentially lucrative possibilities.

Somehow this does not surprise me. I remember watching an episode of "60 Minutes" on CBS and Fortune 500 companies are well invested in the porn industry. Online gambling is a billion dollar industry, and I recall hearing that the Indian gaming casinos along with Las Vegas, etc., have their lobbyists in Washington and are trying to shut it down.
