    File recovery

I didn't want to hijack someone else's thread about recovering lost files.
I am pretty sure I know the sentence and at this point grasping at straws.

    Summary :
External 2? Tb drive I collected. It came formatted with the default FAT system.
Why I decided to format it with Ext 3/ish was just out of spite to nothing.
I ended up purchasing another 8tb extrernal and moved off the 2tb. This was done using DiskInternals
Ended up formatting the drive again to be readable by the Win os system.

I had files on the linux format (videos) , then format to NTFS, then back to Ext hoping for some metadata left in the inodes?
    Is this a lost cause?

    Hi Nick,

Your question could best be handled by Automation. However, our resident technologist is no longer with us. Maybe he will come back.

What exactly did you do with DiskInternals? It's unclear from your description.

Generally, if it was quick formatting and you didn't do much writing on the disk afterward, there might be some hope. But it's looking tough with 2 reformats, plus being vids.

Actually I am not getting you what exactly you wannna try to say? what type file recovery do you want let me know may be i can help you.

I wound up calling it quits on the videos I had. I figured after running DiskInternals to try and recover anything it would be no quality video if anything. Bummer but my own fault for not making a back up.
