How close do you sit to the TV and it's it 4k?

10' and yes. 4K stuff is rather amazing, sure beats NTSC, lol. How people watched tv back in the day is a mystery of which I cannot believe I participated in.

I guess next week there will be like $100 off the Xbox X and some sort of bundle deal, relatively good chance I might add this to the list of shopping

At that distance you'll notice a difference for sure so you'll want 4k which means XBOX (XBox One X). It looks great on my new set, though I do notice occasional slowdowns at 4k. The HDR effects are nice as well. I also discovered that my new LG does have a 120 Hz mode for 1080p. Not that I'll be using it any time soon.

I bought an xbox bundle on Newegg that included a 1TB Xbox One X, NBA game and RDR2 for $509. Seemed pretty decent.

Yeah, I got a 50" 4K screen in the bedroom, doubt I could actually see 4K on that, actually fairly sure I cant. But 75" really brings out the resolution of 4K.

Please tell me, you did get the 77" OLED, right?

No sir. Way too big for the bedroom. Have a 65" in the gym/game room but that's pre OLED.
We have an unobtrusive TV in the main floor living space, but a big TV would be totally out of place there. Once laser projectors get to 4k I'm planning to remove the TV entirely and go with a retractable screen under the mantle. That way it's tv-free space unless it's movie or game watching time. Still not a great TV space during the day as the entire South side is windows so very bright.

... And now that I've checked the price on the 75" OLED, uh, no. I don't see me spending north of $6,500 for a TV.
A handcycle? Sure. A vacation? maybe. But not a TV.

Haha, yeah, quite the jump to that size increment, huh? Of course to complement that OLED, you're going to need to obtain a surround processor with Audyssey EQ function. Quite amazing how that turns out, not at all like 'oxygen-free virgin copper conductors for reference tonal quality speaker wire, $15/ft'. It actually sets things up quite nicely.

$496 after $41 tax for the console and just RDR2, Amazon should get it to me Tuesday. Remember the good 'ol days of no tax on internet stuff? Or is Ohio not as predatory as IL when it comes to taxes?

Newegg didn't charge tax. I also misspoke. I did a bundle with 2 controllers, NBA whatever and RDR2 for $579.
I then purchased A Way Out as the wife wants to play a cooperative game. Should be interesting.

Cooperative game? Isnt the entire purpose of gaming to shut the world around you out and sit there for hours with drool coming out the corner of your mouth while family is yelling at you to get your act together?

Yeah. We'll see. She's not a gamer. First thing is to teach her how the controller works.

Definitely enjoying this sandbox game. Typically find sandbox games a bit boring and this may get to that point, but, for now, it fun just hunting and robbing and enjoying the graphics.

It's fun hogtying people and doing devious things to them. Throw 'em over a ledge, leave 'em on the train tracks, feed 'em to the bears or gators; and that's just to name a few. HA!

I don't know if I am slow or something, but does learning the controls and whatnot get easier? RDR2 is confusing the heck out of me with menus and operations. I actually partitioned out some time today to play RDR2...and then shortly gave up and downloaded Civilization, managing to play 2 hours of that nice and easy. Is there hope for me?

I was mid-Chapter 3 or so before it all clicked. It does seem counterintuitive early on but it actually is an incredibly fast setup once you get it down, for doing a huge variety of things; more than any other game I've played. But, yeah, I feel you. I spent most of Chapter 2 accidentally shooting people in the face.
