"Motherboard Monitor (MBM) is a tool that will display information from the sensor chips on your motherboard in your Windows system tray. MBM supports a wide range of Chipsets & Sensor Chip combinations. It can sense temps from Cpu, HDD, GFx and Mobo. It does also sense Fan speeds."

Hi, this is the exact process/and programs I use. I learned it from www.doom9.net and a friend, who told me about doom. It really is a "dark tip"!! Interesting to see it publicized on the program, but I guess they did use the word, "backup", lol.

Comcast has purchased TechTV and there will be some major programming changes. I don't know if some of the TechTV links will continue to work. Internet Archive may help you find some of the old shows.

Good thing to have in the event of a drive failure: System Rescue CD.

Bootable CD that loads Gentoo Linux, with all kinds of file system tools on it; QTPartEd [freeware Partition Magic clone], ntfsprogs, reiserfs utilities, and much more!

VIM is a great text editor/IDE that I have fallen in love with over the past few months. It is an improved version of vi for the old Unix types, and is available for a variety of platforms in both console and GUI modes: Amiga, Windows, Mac, Linux, OS/2, and many more.

It's a "modal" text editor, unlike standard Notepad type things. Give it a shot. You may like it.

New Zone alarm with antiviral protection. I just may dump Norton (which I have been a loyal fan of).

They (zone alarm) have a trial version I suggest.

Are you using a router e.g. Linksys, D-Link, Belkin?

I actually run dual routers in a weird setup. My primary router from Linksys is the http://www.linksys.com/products/prod...id=29&prid=433 so that I can VPN and have the protection of a hard firewall.

My secondary router is the http://www.linksys.com/products/prod...id=35&prid=601 for my wireless network needs. I bought this one instead of an AP because it was $5 cheaper after rebate than the AP.

I have read the issues not only with the routers, but some performace issues. I have experienced neither. I feel though, once corrected this will be the best package yet. I love the amount of control for an advanced user, and Norton 2004 sucks resources even with a super fast computer.

The author of DVD Decrypter has been served with a take-down order by "a certain company," and this open source program is on its way to becoming extinct. You can still download DVD Shrink, but I think it's just a matter of time before the motion picture industry goes after DVD Shrink with their attorneys.
