  • Seeking a Caregiver in Escondido for quad female

I'm tapping out in my caregiver search and need some ideas about where to post for a caregiver. I want a female caregiver that lives within 10 miles from me because I only need someone for 3 hours (7:00 - 10:00 am).

i used to post in the Pennysaver but it doesn't exist anymore.
IHSS Registry provided me about 30 names, but none were available at this time.
i posted on Indeed.com, but no results.

Any ideas of other resources would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you try posting on Craig's List? Also check out www.Care.com Think about an ad for the San Diego Reader too.

In a pinch, try Avalon Home Care. http://avalonhomecare3-px.rtrk.com/

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.

Try the Project Walk web site. They used to have caregiver agencies listed.

wow no more pennysaver. I used to work in vista, those things were all over the place. I got my horse from the pennysaver, and at least two jobs.

Thank You for your advice. I still haven't hired a caregiver yet, but have found a few more resources to add to the list of where to look for one:

          1. Social worker at Sharp Rehab, maybe some other rehabs too

          2. Facebook has private pages that one can join. I posted on "Escondido Friends" and within minutes had about 20 responses. Advantage is the social media aspect of people sharing it with family members and friends that are caregivers.
Also, I want someone in my neighborhood, and most of all, I can look at their page and get an idea of who they are.

          3. Another private Facebook page is the "IHSS Consumers, Providers and Advocates United"

I might know someone experienced who lives in that area. I'll ask her if she's interested in and forward you her info if she is.
