    Cast your net wide. Print out flyers and post them on nursing school and physical therapy school bulletin boards. The key is to make your advertisement as clear and concise as possible regarding the duties of the position beforehand. That way you can prescreen the potential assistants.

    Contact your local center for independent living. There are also other community programs that you can take advantage of. Lastly, don't forget about the social work department at your local hospitals. They can help you to find caregivers as well. I know that "Faith in Action" used to have an interfaith volunteer caregiving program which was sponsored by the Robert Wood Foundation. I know that Easter Seals also has a program you might want to look into.
    “You need to take care of yourself first. If you don't care for yourself, you can't take care of someone else.”
