    Abdominal cramps for several weeks

I have had Abdominal cramps or several weeks. I'm c5/6 quad. Doctor may want to do a colonoscopy. If so ats best way to prep for test. Anything I should make sure doctor is aware of to prevent compliations and sucessful procedure.

Have you had an ultrasound or CT first? Do you have a positive guiac (blood residue in your stools)?

The prep is the same for SCI as for AB, but more difficult as you will undoubtably have multiple incontinent stools after you take the prep solution. We admit our patients for a 23 hour stay if possible so that they have nursing assistance with that. Talk to your doctor about this.

Otherwise, if you are at risk for AD, you must be monitored for this throughout the procedure, and a plan must be in place for managing any AD that occurs during the procedure.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
