    Recurring infections

I'm a femaile with spina bifida and I do self-caths about 5x/day. I have a lot of problems with recurring UTIs. Anyone have any advice as to ways to cut down of infections, such as some cath cleaning suggestions? Thanks!

Have you had recent urodynamics? Do you have a good neurologic urologist? Catheter cleaning techniques are frequently much less of a factor than having too much urine in your bladder at one time (avoid more than 425-450 cc), going to long between caths (4-6 hours) and having high pressures (which can only be detected with urodynamics).
