    Protein (Albumin) in Urine

I usually take a full urine test with other tests about every six months. Most of the time in the urine report it says that there's protein (albumin). This time it says +30 the highest so far. This has been happening on an off since 1998. The pus cells are also high but the doctor said it was normal as I use an intermittent catheter. I visit a kindney specialist once a year and even though I show the report he doesn't show any concern and tells me not to worry. He takes a scan, checks the blood urea and all these are OK. SCI nurse is it OK to have albumin in the urine if all the other test reports are OK.

I would share your concern with your doctor. He may not understand that it is bothering you. One test out of all of them does not make for concern- however, there needs to be an answer as to why you are spilling albumin into your urine. Are you losing weight? Muscle mass?
