  • Primary Doctor, Rehab / Physical Medicine Doctor?

Every time I go to a new rehab/physical medicine Doctor, they ask me who is my primary Doctor. I use the rehab Doctor as my primary Doctor for my Spinal cord injury & my insurance co. I use the rehab doctor as a means to get prescriptions that I need related to my injury. I use my other non insurance Doctor for anything not related to SCI. Am I doing this wrong? Should I use my primary everything Doctor as my main insurance Doctor? I know in the past the insurance co. would get out of paying if it wasn't related to my injury.

Use the doctor the insurance is paying. You don't what to be responsible for that bill.
