It is possible as both of these drugs are anticholergic, meaning that they work by inhibiting the release of certain neurotransmission chemicals. Detrol has been around a much shorter time than Ditropan though, so the reports are not real helpful.

Some of the effect of memory impairment with Ditropan is dose related. If you are taking Ditropan or Detrol for prevention of reflux from the bladder and are using an indwelling catheter (and have no problems with leakage), a lower dose is generally effective.

You may want to consider any other drugs you take as a possible source. Antidepressants build up and may cause short term memory probs.
