Staph Infection???

I have a friend that had surgery recently and is
also a nurse that has a staph infection.Am I being
paranoid about avoiding her until the infection
clears up?? She is currently on antibiotics.

Staph Infection

I don't know if you're being paranoid or not. We all have staph bacteria of one kind or another on our skin, in our nasal passages and in our mouths. When the bacteria get into other places where they don't belong we can get an infection.

As long as you don't put your hands or fingers in your mouth or nose or eyes, while you are visiting your friend and wash your hands well before any personal care (such as eating or toileting), I doubt you are at much risk in this person's presence.
