    Dilated IVC?

Nurse, can you pls give me some information. Last week I received the results back from an ultrasound for suspected gall bladder stone. It was negative, they think i must have passed it. But I read the report and it said I had a dilated IVC and no cause was able to be found. Can this be related to low blood pressure, and what are the possible causes for it to be dilated?

I was not intending on going back to the specialist, as its difficult for me to take time off work, but would like to know if this needs to be addressed.

    thanks

    dilated IVC

annabanana - a dilated IVC would not result from low blood pressure. I would suggest that you seek the advice of a vascular surgeon about the answer to your 'Why?' and to evaluate whether this is something that you need to be concerned about. CRF
