    What are the different injuries?

I have a bruise to my c3c4 area. I am incomplete so I have some
movement below my injury level. Is a bruise to the spinal cord
like a bruise you get when you get hit in the arm and blood forms?
Is a bruise not as bad as other injuries? Just curious

Hackn - Approx. 99% of all sc injuries are bruises. I would guess that the majority of us probably have injuries around 5-7cm in size (roughly the equivalent of a pencil eraser). Amazing how much damage is done 'eh. It also, however makes the cure all the more reasonable, sensible and ultimately applicable. We don't have a limb problem what we have is a "failure to communicate" problem. Open the channels of communication properly and we're on our way.

The remaining 1% or so represent knife wounds, gun shots, etc. where the cord is cut, shredded or sliced.

    Onward and upward.

Chris thank you for the reply. I didn't know the percentage was that
high for a bruise. I remember at rehab most of the injuries were
broken necks or backs and the break injured the spine in some way.
Those would be considered complete injuries? Like a knife stabbing or
gunshot. So what we need is a little bridge to bypass the injury. I know
      someday they will accomplish this.

I suffered a broken neck, but my injury to my spine is a 'bruise' too.
