    getting off zanaflex

Can I just stop taking it or do I have to wean off it like baclofen?

I think you are supposed to wean off, but I could be wrong.

Even if it may not formally recommended, I suggest that all drugs such as Zanaflex, etc. that have effects of spasticity and neuropathic pain, should be weaned off rather than cold-turkeyed. Do it over a couple of days. Wise.

Yes, baclofen is best weaned off. I would discuss your desire to wean off with your health provider. The weaning can be done in different ways depending on your dose and timing. The usual way I am used to is to reduce the dose gradually every 5 days.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
