Is 1 Activia yogurt a day enough to protect my gut health while on antibiotics?

I started a 7 day course of antibiotics for an infection. I have been eating 1 Activia yogurt a day for a while. Is that enough to protect my gut health?

Not sure how helpful yoghurt or any probiotics are, but I’ve always been told that taking them during the antibiotic treatment is basically pointless because the antibiotics will kill the probiotics bacteria as well. You should focus on rebuilding gut flora as soon as the antibiotics are finished. Yogurt with active cultures, fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir etc. may help. There’s also supplements probiotics new G.I. doctor suggested a multi strain probiotic for me.

Everyone is different with respect to probiotics or Activia yogurt etc when using to protect gut health with antibiotics - Everyone's gut health overall is different
Do what works for you - if it prevents diarrhea while on antibiotics it will also be preventative in developing C diff infection

Activia was sued long ago for false advertising. Claims they were better than other yogurts were false. Save a few bucks with cheaper brands.
Over all diet might be the best choice. I adjust mine to which ever extreme I at, at that time. To repeat what we all hear often, everybody is different.

Much of commercially available yogurt is pasturized, so will provide no probiotic bacteria. The jury is still out on the value of probiotics at all, but if you are trying to obtain them from yogurt, be sure it is one that says "live culture" or "unpasturized". (KLD)
