I have been following the instruction manual for ROHO cushion inflation but I started getting these imprints on my bottom. Should I be worried?

Are you using a Roho cover for your cushion? Are you sure it is not over-inflated? Do you have significant sacral edema?

Yes I am using a cover.
No I am not sure whether it is over or under inflated. My care assistants all have different opinions but I have been following the published instruction manual exactly to the letter.
I’m currently scheduled for a pressure mapping seat evaluation but the appointment is weeks away and it’ll probably take even longer to order all of the proper parts if changes are needed. I have been trying to get opinions on anything that I can do in the short term so that I can at least sit up for a few hours a day at the very least to get some work done.

this is my current seating process in my wheelchair.
1. Make sure that the cushion is over inflated initially and all four quadrants are unlocked so air flows freely in between them
2. Sit into the cushion and let the shape mold to my bottom
3. Measure in the back to see if there is 0.5” to 1” and release air if too much.
This is the process described in the inflation guide that I found online from website. One of my assistance is proposing that I simply keep the entire cushion locked BEFORE sitting in the cushion.

Your cushion valves should be CLOSED before you sit on it, and ideally a bit over-inflated, then after positioning on the cushion, slowly let air out of each chamber until you achieve the 0.5-1.0 inch distance from the chair seat directly under your ischial tuberosities. The Roho is a high maintenance cushion. Perhaps not the right one for you. See if you can get pressure tested on a variety of cushions when you get your seating eval done. (KLD)

How long does it take these marks to disappear?

You should definitely get a pressure mapping. I was told one time to open up all the valves, over inflated mattress, then open the main valve and let it come to a rest. To me that looks very dangerous. I would think it's under inflated by the look of it. Looks very dangerous to me. I have a small sore, it's been there for 2 years now. It has gotten smaller, 2 cm down and a tunnel at 6 o clock of 1 cm. I would definitely get a pressure map done. That looks like it could break open pretty easy.Brought to you by: atrophied&twitch
