Just be aware that BZK may not be effective in killing some bacteria, particularly pseudomonas and some other gram-negative bacteria.

Soap and water are sufficient for most cleaning of your hands and genitals when cathing. Not very practical away from home, I know, but when at home, this is the best. The water does not have to be hot either.

I have been using BZKs as skin prep for 30 years with no problems and only half a dozen bladder infections in that time, until last year when I had a long bout with Pseudomonas. My tendons are still trashed from the weeks of antibiotics. My wife caths me and we use a clean technique with non- sterile gloves (on both hands) when out and about. What can I use besides BZK wipes for penile wipe? I am acutely allergic to iodine and betadine.
