  • Dark urine

Urine is suddenly dark, as if I'm dehydrated. Had been clear routinely about 5 days ago. No offensive smell.

Daily intake is usually 3100 ml
250ml water for AM med taking
300ml green tea w/a touch of honey
    250ml soda
    500ml water
    500ml water
    500ml iced tea unsweet
300ml hot water w/a touch of honey
    500ml for PM med taking
*500ml avail if I need it over night*

Output is acceptable based on input. No changes in diet or medications.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks...

Do you have an increase in bladder spasms or spasms as a whole? Any symptoms of a uti? Change in medications? Is your bowel program staying regulated? Sorry for the questions. It may help to explain the change.

No to all, that is what is so strange. I see my urologist next week for a cath change, I will have him do a ua\culture.

      Also no signs of bleeding.

      Thanks

Another question...what do you mean by dark? brown, deep yellow, or maroon?

on the dark yellow - which is what I see when I know I have not had enough fluids.

definitely NOT maroon - which I would compare to after I have had stone ablation - hints of blood.

Nothing has changed diet, medication, bowel, aroma etc etc - no chills or sweats or spasms

Just really strange since it had been running remarkably clear about 5 days ago

Have you been retaining water in your legs and feet? Sometimes, even though I have been drinking as I normally do, if my feet are swollen, usually due to hot weather or who knows why your feet swell more sometimes than others, I will have darker yellow (concentrated color) urine than usual.
