SCI since 1987, ventilator dependant. My temperature fluctuates between 96.0 and 98.6. Does Anyone have any suggestions on cause. Thank you.

Me too, I'm T3 complete. I think it is mostly due to poor circulation, especially in our legs. They cool off, and that brings down our core temp.

It is a function of the autonomic nervous system. People with injuries at T6 and above have issues with their autonomic nervous system, making it difficult to regulate. It is not uncommon for you to be more effected by the environmental temperatures as a result of this.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
