    Bead, have you been assessed for swallowing problems? Silent aspiration can be a major risk factor for pneumonia, esp. with bugs like MRSA.

    Also, be sure you have received your pneumonia vaccinations and that you get a flu shot annually.

    Here is the latest information about pneumococcal pneumonia vaccinations for people at risk (which includes people with SCI).

    Have you seen a pulmonologist? At this point you may have chronic bronchitis, which may require treatment.
