    Help: Brown Sequard

Do you know of any physician's who have actually performed surgery on patients with Brown-sequard's syndrome? I am trying to help my mom find a surgeon to do this for her.

What type of surgery? For what purpose?

Spinal stabilization and decompression should be done if indicated for Brown Sequard syndrome just as with any other complete or incomplete SCI. There is rarely an indication for or benefit of surgery on the cord itself.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
