San Diego SCI Education program 10/20/10

The SCI Center at the VA San Diego is sponsoring their 12th annual Take Control outpatient education day on 10/20/10 at the VA San Diego Healthcare System La Jolla campus. Attached is the flyer for this workshop. It is designed primarily for our Veterans and Active Duty Service members with SCI and their families and caregivers, but is also open to people with SCI from the community who are not Veterans.

This year we are featuring Sam Maddox from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Paralysis Foundation who will be speaking on new and emerging therapies for SCI cure. Sam was also one of the founding editors of New Mobility magazine and the editor of the first two editions of the book Spinal Network

Attached is the flyer. Please share with others in the San Diego area who might be interested.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
