I ABSOLUTELY want to comply... that's why I asked.

I guess I misunderstood this part of the policy statement:

"3. Profile Posts. You can post information on your Profile's Visitor Message board concerning products or services that you are providing, including fundraising and commercial links. However, drug advertisements and links to pornographic sites are not allowed. "

I honestly thought that my VM was in compliance with that, but it's no big deal anyway, I'll just not have a VM. That's ok with me.

Posts that are from members and are recommendations of companies that they have used themselves vs. those posted by for-profit companies to drive business to their own websites are seen differently. This was reveiwed by the moderators and Dr. Young and found to be within our rules, while yours was not.

We have been flooded by spammers in the past five years, advertising products on our site. Therefore, we have established strict rules concerning advertisements on our site.

We do not want commercial organizations, manufacturers, clinics, services, doctors, and others to advertise themselves or their products in posts, signatures, or visitor messages. If you have question or information for our members, you are welcome to post but please, no advertisements of your services, products, or organization to our community.

We do have a forum entitled "Equipment & Services" where you can post about equipment or services for sale that is relevant to our community. But, that is the limit of the advertising that we allow on the site. Thank you.

Hi ruttmaster Driving members away to another site is not good business ethics .

That basically is why if you need info - do some intetrnet searching ( Browser ) what ever search engine you use it is kind to follow guidelines of any their sites Rules .

It is still considered spamming to put commercial links on the Profile page, or to include them as your signature, embed them into your posts, or to post them in Visitor Messages (on either your own or other members' profiles). We also ban those who register a commercial name or URL as a user name.

Hi the reason your having alot of trouble with spammers is people selling edu website links and list with site:.edu "register.php"
if you enter that into google yours is 4th spot out of over 2 million results.
which will explain the high rise in spam

Thought id message and let you know not sure how you can solve it other than closing registrations il look into it and see if the is away to hide it
