The butterfly sitting on Patty Bundy’s shoulder is just another one of the miracles Bundy has experienced since she became paralyzed in April 2006.

“Since I fell, butterflies just come and sit on me,” said Bundy. “I’ve had a lot of small miracles since then.”

Bundy and her family are hoping for another miracle in the shape of a van equipped for a driver in a motorized wheelchair. Friends and neighbors are helping to make this miracle happen.

Two years ago, Bundy was making a phone call from her home in Rockingham when the chair she was sitting on cracked and caused her to fall. She struck her neck in the fall, resulting in a C-3 spinal cord injury. The level of this injury caused her to become paralyzed from the chest down.

Bundy, 45, has spent a lot of time since her accident in hospitals and rehab, waiting on surgeries and phyrical therapies that haven’t helped until recently. After two years of sporadic therapy, Bundy said she finally found a therapist that is helping.
