PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 2002--OakTree, an Internet consulting firm, announced the launch of, a Web site dedicated to empowering individuals with mobility needs.

Keen Mobility is a developer and distributor of ergonomically advanced assistive devices, such as crutches, wheelchair cushions, and canes that help prevent musculoskeletal damage and enhance independence.

Keen Mobility needed a robust and efficient E-commerce site that would encourage customers to interact with the company and learn more about a new generation of assistive devices. They also needed a comprehensive re-branding program that included both web and print collateral. OakTree helped Keen create a comprehensive web strategy that satisfied both short term branding needs and longer term operational success.

"Keen Mobility has been winning accolades for their business plan," said OakTree President John Schmitt. "This site reflects their vision for their product, their company and, most importantly, the needs of Keen's customers."

The new site's eye-catching design connects with the community, thanks to the use of intuitive navigation and custom photography that emphasizes the theme to "Move." Visitors can create a personalized, secure "My Account" area, view videos about problems associated with the use of traditional crutches, and customize their order on the fly. The site is also Section 508 compliant to make it easier for visitors with any sort of assistive need to engage with Keen.

OakTree developed a dynamic inventory management
system that, significantly, moves beyond web-specific functionality. Based on Microsoft .NET technology, it integrates the E-commerce storefront with the product offerings, so Keen Mobility can process phone orders and manage their entire inventory with the same system. The system is a core operational investment that can easily adjust to Keen's future needs.

"OakTree accepted the challenge of working with a demanding start-up company," says Keen Mobility founder and CEO Vail Horton, "and together we produced a world class web site that captures the essence of our company's image to 'Move.' We are very proud of the ways we can now better serve the community because of it."
