    Research participants needed!

    Hello,

My name is Kerri Garruba and I am a doctoral student from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am currently working on my dissertation for my Clinical Psychology degree. My research topic examines how one?s thoughts might influence one?s quality of life and ability to adjust to life following traumatic spinal cord injury. I am interested in this topic due to my sister?s injury in 2008, which resulted in paraplegia. Her journey has allowed me to see how spinal cord injury affects not only one?s physical abilities, but also many other aspects of life. The study involves completing an internet-based questionnaire, which will take approximately 45 minutes.

In order to participate you need to:
    Be 18 years or older
Have at least an 8th grade education
Be a spinal cord injury survivor
Have no documented moderate-severe brain injury
    Have not experienced hallucinations

You can access the study by using the following link: http://goo.gl/p3jeAU

If you have any questions or concerns about completing the questionnaire or about being in this study, you may contact my advisor, Dr. Brad Rosenfield at 215-871-6914 or bradr@pcom.edu, or Theresa (Fullerton) Stem, PCOM Research Compliance Specialist at 215-871-6782 or teresaf@pcom.edu. This project has been approved by the Institutional Review Boards at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Magee Rehabilitation.

Thank-you in advance for your help. This data will help professionals better understand the impact of spinal cord injury and may improve the approaches used in rehabilitation hospitals.

    Sincerely,
    Kerri Garruba
