Bad Timing by Blue Rodeo (although it will be over by the time I make this post)
I am in a melancoly mood today and so made an iPod playlist for the downer songs in my collection and set the songs to shuffle. Listening to them is making me feel better.
"Music will always find its way to us, with or without business, politics, religion, or any other bullshit attached. Music survives everything, and like God it is always present. It needs no help, and suffers no hindrance. It has always found me, and with God's blessing and permission, it always will." Eric Clapton

I love this album and listened to it several times a day for weeks back in the summer of '04, saw them live on Halloween '04 with Taking Back Sunday and a then little-known band Fall Out Boy opening. Great show! Sadly, only FOB is still playing/recording.
Listening to the recently acquired discography of Eric Clapton. He's had more "periods? than Picasso. I saw him live a lot before he started to sing - back when he borrowed heavily from B. B. King's guitar work. It was quite a surprise to learn that he was such an expressive singer.

My new favourite band is Them Crooked Vultures. I saw them on SNL Saturday and was like 'Hey, that's the guy from Queens of the Stone Age on guitar. Wait a sec... that's Dave Grohl on the drums! Hmm, who's that old guy on bass? Is that... OMG! It's John Paul effing Jones!'
A history of rock and roll awesomeness in one band!
