How did you get them? The last I checked, KCI does not sell any of their VAC machines, not the ATS or the Freedom. They have them for rent only.

Beware of buying what could be stolen goods.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.

      KCI Wound VACS

You are correct, KCI does not sell these anywhere!!! That is why they are impossible to get.....I have bought mine from a Swedish distributor and am the only one here in the United States that has these machines for private sale. These are not stolen goods.......

dieha, you are wasting your time on this post. This guy has not been back since his scam (selling what are probably stolen goods) was unmasked. If you need a VAC, your insurance should pay for rental.

                Wound VAC Machines

My mother is in a skilled nursing facility and they informed me today that Medicare paying for her wound vac is exhausted. It is 96.00 per DAY to rent them. I don't have that kind of money. Mom is on Medicare and Medicaid and we live in WA State. Is there any way around this with medicare? Is there a legitimite way to buy one?
I hope I am not intruding on a wrong board that I should not be on.

I would appreciate it if anyone can help.

No, KCI does not sell these, and unless you find one that is stolen, it is unlikely you would find one for sale. In addition to the rental, the disposables for the wound VAC can easily run another $50/day. The wound VAC is a good device, but it is not the end-all-and-be-all of wound care. She should see a wound care specialist outside of the nursing home if at all possible and find out about other options.

                            Wound Vac

It is to bad that you do not have a company rep in Texas as you would be able to put KCI here in a big hurt as they seem to have a monopoly on wound vac rental here and they charge up to 4000.00 dollars a month rental. I know of at least on big hospital chain here in Texas that would love to do business with you it is call East Texas Medical Center.
You do not rent wound vacs in Texas do you??

Yes I am back.......I know the nurse who knows this thread thinks she knows it all in regards to wound vacs as I am sure she knows a lot, but anyone that is anyone knows the KCI wound VACS are creme de la creme so to speak. Their technology is heads and shoulders above the rest in regards to actual device specs, foam dressing, and have the science and white papers to prove their point. TRUST ME, I am a RN at a major teaching institution and I have seen them all and nothing stands even close to the KCI wound VAC.
I have a overseas contact that supplies me these VACS periodically throughout the year - no strings attached. No serial numbers and in brand new condition. Before I get blasted again, these are NOT stolen as I have no idea how my supplier gets his hands on them. I don't even ask I will be receiving more (2) at the end of the month as I refuse to post on here for sale because I don't need to. I am writing this to get the record straight. I ask everyone on here that reads this post to listen to a healthcare clinician and anyone with a right mind will tell you that the KCI is the real deal as I have seen time and time again and it's worth the extra money. The cheap imitations aren't even comparably close.
